People in school seemed to wear masks over their faces, just like this paper helmet. High school social personas sometimes felt like disguises. This work was also an experiment inspired by the Golden Hoop in the Journey to the West. Paper is not a rigid material, and we can easily split paper with our hands. Also, I used triangles because of their stable shape. I then created a triangular pyramid unit with paper. Through the experimental process, I crafted a helmet. Thus, I titled the work Trilmet. The "tri" stands for the pyramid form, and the "met" references the helmet. With Trilmet, I want people to feel how hard it is to live inside a helmet, but still, people can breathe. In a society built by rules, people can only see what people choose to reveal.
