My hometown's culture inspired this installation. In ancient China, people in my hometown used shadow puppetry for entertainment. Near my home, an elder still does shadow puppet shows to preserve the tradition. The most cherished show is called The Frog Marshal. That's where I drew creative energy for this project. Although I only made nine frogs, shadows create an appearance of many more. I handcrafted the frogs and then 3D-printed them. Then, I applied color to two frog puppets, one of which depicts the cursed frog. This frog represents passion and conflict. The other frog I painted embodies creativity and innovation.
